My parents-in-law own this pair of vintage chairs, very well made , probably by a local contractor/blacksmith. They also may be among the mass produced ones in India in the early 60's. MIL inherited them from her parents. The original nylon weaving is still intact! Cool isn't it
Very pretty! I love the hairpin legs on them instead of the usual straight iron legs I usually see on similar chairs.
ReplyDeleteOh God! yes we too had them as kids and slowly they were replaced by the folding aluminum ones I guess :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG!! We had these chairs in my grandpa's place. Four chairs complete with a coffee table.. I dont remeber seeing them in good shape, the weaving was torn and they were dumped among old stuff in the attic. Now I can imagine how lovely they would have looked.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I love those hairpin legs!

ReplyDeleteAwesome, its been a looong time since I saw these chairs. We used to have it at home, but the nylon seating wore away with years and the constant burden of kilos :)) And I never knew they're called Hairpin Leg Iron Bucket Chairs, interesting!
